Internship Regulations

I. Basis and Positioning

Practical training is a core component of the theological education at this institution, belonging to "experiential theological education."

The internship education program is conducted in accordance with the college's academic regulations, teaching rules, and relevant regulations of the Pastoral Education Department. The college emphasizes the following regarding internship education: 1.

1. Continuity: Spanning the semester and summer break, rather than accumulating scattered hours; 2. Formative: Emphasizing spiritual life, character, and calling.

3. Reflective: Combining theory, practice and theological reflection; 4. Measurable: Possessing clear learning outcomes and evaluation mechanisms.

II. Internship Education Objectives

1. To assist students in applying theological knowledge to pastoral, missionary, and service work, and to cultivate their integration skills.

2. To foster the maturity of students' spiritual life, character, and attitude towards service.

3. Guide students to engage in theological reflection in real-world settings and to identify calling and gifts.

4. Establish partnerships between our institute and churches/organizations to promote mutual growth.

III. Overall Framework of Internship Education

Our college's internship program includes a 9-month in-term internship each year and a 2-month summer internship each year.

The training phase, its input methods, and educational objectives are explained below:

1. Internship during the semester (September – May)

Students undertake continuous internships within the same church or institution, dedicating four fixed time slots per week, totaling 12-15 hours.

At that time, each academic year lasts 9 months; through long-term, low-density, and stable participation, pastoral/missionary observation skills are developed.

International ministry experience. The internship covers pastoral care, teaching, preaching, caregiving, and church administration, and includes formative training.

Supervision and feedback. Internships for Master of Missions students can involve participation in church-based mission work, inter-church mission organizations, or...

Workplace evangelism, establishing evangelistic groups and organic churches, and completing formative supervision and reflection records.

2. Summer Internship (July–August)

Students will undertake a two-month full-time internship in the same internship site or an approved internship site, with each week...

Five days, totaling 40 hours. This phase emphasizes demonstrating a high level of commitment, integrating capabilities, and summarizing.

Sexual assessment. Students are also encouraged to undertake short-term missionary internships during the summer, which can be in their own culture, neighboring cultures, or cross-cultural settings.

The teaching process includes pre-departure preparation, on-site service, and post-departure summative evaluation and theological reflection.

IV. Internship Credit Allocation Method

The allocation of internship credits in our college is determined based on the design and assessment of the internship engagement type and learning process, taking into account continuity and integration.

The focus is on quality and measurability, not just on the number of hours. The entire internship program emphasizes the development and stabilization of practical pastoral skills.

Based on the established rhythm, the internship credit allocation method is as follows:

1. Master of Arts in Taoism (M. Div): Three academic years of semester-long internships, 1 credit per academic year, totaling 3 credits over 3 years; plus two summer internships.

The internship is 1 credit per session, 2 credits for two sessions, for a total of 5 credits.

2. Master of Mind (M. Min): Two academic years of mid-term internships, 1 credit per academic year, for a total of 2 credits over 2 years; plus one summer internship, 1 credit, for a total of 3 credits.

3. Master of Concierge Studies (M. Miss): One academic year mid-term internship, 1 credit, and one summer internship, 1 credit, for a total of

It is worth 2 credits.

Integration and Assessment: Students must complete the requirements of the overall internship module, including an internship log, a theological reflection report, and school and field-related tasks.

Credits will only be awarded after the domain supervision and evaluation, and the summary report, confirming that the overall learning outcomes have been achieved. Students who do not complete the full-time internship during the semester or summer are considered to have not completed their internship education and will not be awarded full credits.
